Diese 3 Tage in Mikumi sind speziell auf die Reiseanforderungen von Besuchern aus Dar es Salaam, Morogoro und Dodoma abgestimmt. Es kann als Wochenendurlaub bezeichnet werden, wobei man sein Wochenende für diese Tour nutzen kann.
Der Mikumi-Nationalpark grenzt an die Nordgrenze von Afrikas größtem Wildreservat – dem Selous – und wird von der asphaltierten Straße zwischen Dar es Salaam und Iringa durchquert. Es ist somit der am besten zugängliche Teil eines 75.000 Quadratkilometer großen Wildnisgebiets, das sich nach Osten fast bis zum Indischen Ozean erstreckt. Die offenen Horizonte und die reiche Tierwelt der Mkata-Flutebene, dem beliebten Herzstück von Mikumi, ziehen häufige Vergleiche mit den berühmteren Serengeti-Ebenen nach sich. Mehr als 400 Vogelarten wurden registriert, mit so farbenfrohen gewöhnlichen Bewohnern wie der Fliederbrustracke, der Gelbkehl-Langkralle und dem Riesenadler, zu denen sich während der Regenzeit eine Vielzahl europäischer Migranten gesellt.
Flusspferde sind die Hauptattraktion der beiden Pools, die sich 5 km nördlich des Haupteingangstors befinden, unterstützt von einer ständig wechselnden Besetzung von Wasservögeln.

Early morning our driver will pick you up from Dar Es Salaam from your Hotel and start safari to Mikumi National Park; the trip will take approximately 5 hours to arrive Mikumi NP. Arrive at Mikumi and direct to the game drive.
You can see zebras, lions, wild dogs, pythons, hartebeest, wildebeest, elephants, impala, warthog, eland and other antelopes. Several observation towers enable you to overview the park in its entirety. Mikumi National Park is mostly miombo woodland with gently rolling hills. Later return to the Lodge for dinner and overnight.

In the morning after breakfast, leave for the full game drive with a packed lunch. Animals commonly found here include lion, eland, hartebeest, buffalo, wildebeest, giraffe, zebra and elephant. Wild dog can be seen in packs here. The open horizons and abundant wildlife of the Mkata Floodplain, the popular centerpiece of Mikumi, draw frequent comparisons to the more famous Serengeti Plains. After game drive depart to the Lodge for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast you will start the day with a cultural visit to a local Maasai village in Mikumi. If time allows, we’ll pass by the local women’s market. The Maasai are a popular traditional tribe in Tanzania and Kenya. This trip is optional so those rushing to make the journey back to Zanzibar can opt out of this cultural visit. Kindly let us know during the booking. Afterwards you will start your journey back to Dar-es-Salaam. You will arrive back in Dar es Salaam before dark where you will be dropped off at the hotel of your choice.
