Today you will arrive from Daressalaam – starting your adventure to the beautiful Usambara Mountains. You have to arrive very early in the morning to arrive to Lushoto town. Here you will meet your guide and he will check your gear for the next days to make sure that you are well prepared for your hike. Together with your guide you will hike to Kisasa Waterfalls & Irente Viewpoint. Overnight in Lushoto.
After a nice breakfast near Irente View Point, we will transfer you to Mkuzi Village.
transfer time: 45 minutes
Heading through farms where you can see coffee and banana plantations and experience local village life. Here you have the option of visiting the beautiful Mkuzi Waterfalls where we take a short break for swimming.
From here you will hike through the forest and beautiful plantations. Along the way you will see black and white colobus monkeys, vervet monkeys, birds, many colourful butterflies and Jacksons chameleons. In the afternoon you will arrive near Lukozi market where you will have dinner and overnight at your accommodation.

Today we set out very early for the highlight of your hike. You will reach Chambolo Peak, the highest peak of the Usambara Mountains and the beautiful surrounding ridges. On a clear day, even Kilimanjaro can be seen. Our guide will help you to spot the unique Two-Horn-Chameleons that only exist at Usambara. The hike is away from the regular trails, so long trousers and good shoes are required. Depending on your stamina, you will reach the nearby village or Rangwi for late lunch at Rangwi Sisters Convent Guesthouse. From here we will transfer you back to Lushoto.

Absolutely yes. Our handpicked hotels all offer you to safely store your luggage during your climb. In this way you can leave all gear that you won’t need during your climb at the hotel. That is very convenient if you are planning to go on a safari or to Zanzibar after your hike.
Tanzania Horizon Safaris has worked out a very transparent cancellation policy. In most cases we can offer a voucher if you have to postpone your travel.
