Group Climbs: 4 Days Mt. Meru

October 15 to October 20, 2024

Join us for a 4 Days Mt. Meru group hiking to the second highest summit in Tanzania to enjoy incredible views of Arusha National Park

Arrival Date: October 15, 2024
Climbing from: October 16 to October 19, 2024
Departure Date: October 20, 2024

Mount Meru is a spectacular volcano located in the center of Arusha National Park. At 4,566 m (14,980 feet), Meru is a great option to acclimatize before facing Mt. Kilimanjaro or can be done as a complete standalone hike in it of itself. Mt. Meru combines the beauty of Arusha National Park with the challenge of hiking one of the tallest mountain in Africa. It offers a solitary, peaceful trek. Wooden huts serve as simple accommodations. On the lower slopes of the mountain and inside the park, there is a good chance of spotting animals. An armed ranger will accompany your party on the first stage to protect against any wildlife threats. The trail follows the north rim of the crater, along a dramatic ridgeline. Once at the summit, the views of Mount Kilimanjaro and down into Meru crater are unforgettable.

Do not underestimate Mount Meru. Altitude acclimatization is still the key to a successful summit Meru.

Tanzania Horizon Safaris offers Mount Meru as a 3 Days & 4 Days climb.
